We Buy

Selling something old?
Start with a cup of tea.

A single candlestick or the contents of a whole house — we buy antiques and collectables every week, and we'd rather you got a fair price and a straight answer than a hard sell. Valuations are free and there's no obligation whatsoever.

How it works

I

Get in touch

Ring, email, or just bring it into the shop. Photos on your phone are plenty to start with — no need to lug a dresser up the High Street.

II

We take a look

In the shop, or at your home for larger pieces and clearances. We'll tell you what it is, what it's worth, and why — in plain English.

III

A fair offer

Take it or leave it with no hard feelings. If you'd rather not sell, you'll at least go home knowing more about your piece than you arrived with.

Always Interested In

What we're looking for

  • Quality furniture, Georgian to mid-century
  • Longcase, mantel & carriage clocks
  • Pocket & wristwatches, working or not
  • Silver, hallmarked or otherwise interesting
  • Jewellery, old and unusual
  • Paintings, prints, maps & frames
  • Ceramics, glass & studio pottery
  • Books, ephemera & curiosities
  • Complete collections, however odd
  • Attics, barns & "we don't know what's in there"

House Clearances

Whole houses, handled properly

Clearing a family home is rarely just a job of work. We do it carefully and respectfully across Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset — the valuable identified and paid for fairly, the rest dealt with tidily, the keys back in your hand on time.

"If you'd rather not sell, you'll at least leave knowing what you've got."

That's the whole philosophy. Antiques only survive because someone, somewhere, was dealt with fairly enough to pass them on. We intend to keep it that way.
